Alicia Keys looked very elegant with her vintage up do. This could be a great summer look or a great look fro an elegant bride.
Corinne Bailey Rae looked very beautiful and playful with her side-styled curls. This is a great way to spice up a twist set or twist out.
I am not a fan of lace front wigs but i must say J Hudson's hair was not that bad. It looked very natural and elegant. The hair had body and movement. This look could also be achieved on your natural hair.

You Really Are What You Eat........
Natural hair has evolved from a movement to a lifestyle. We have become more knowledgeable consumers. We are now reading product labels and educating ourselves on different good/bad product ingredients. While all this is wonderful, I am a true believer that beauty starts from the inside. So, as we search for the best products. We should also be on a search for a healthy hair food plan.
Hair is 98% protein. Nutritionists advise healthy hair seekers to eat well balanced diets that incorporate healthy proteins. Along with foods high in vitamin B,C,E,A and K. Hair instantly responds to the addition of protein rich foods. Here are a few things that you could do to improve your hair's health from the inside. Along with a proper diet healthy hair seeker's need two essential fatty acids. Omega-3 and Omega-6 which are not produced naturally by the human body. Omega -3 fats are found mostly in algae, cold water fish, dark green veggies, hemp oil and pumpkin seed oil. Flax oil is considered the most concentrated source of omega-3 found in nature. Omega-6 fats include borage, evening primrose oil, safflower oil, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, corn and pumpkin seeds. Other foods rich in essential fatty acids include english walnuts, kidney beans, navy beans and soy beans.
Cold -pressed vegetable oils are also essential to a hair healthy diet. Lack of these oils causes dull, lifeless hair along with parched, rough skin. Add a teaspoon to your fresh salad daily and your hair will instantly benefit.
So, I think it's time for us to start taking care of our inside beauty along with the outside. We need to stock our cabinets and fridges with great hair food, just like we stock our medicine cabinets with the latest hair product.
NOTE: Please consult with your physician/nutritionist before undertaking any long term nutritional plans.

Splitsville
I understand that there are some women that can't live without their long hair. I know that there are theory's that say you don't need your ends clipped. I have been curling and clipping for almost a decade and at some point all women need their ends clipped. Most stylist recommed trimming every 6-8 weeks. I say each head of hair is different and I give trims on an as needed basis. Clients with color treated hair/ chemicial processed hair tend to need trims more often. If you use excessive heat ( flat iron, curling iron, blow dryer) you may need your hair trimmed more often. I have worked with all textures of hair and some cleints get trimmed more often them others, but evently they all needs trims. Having your ends trimmed regularly makes your hair look and feel healthlier, prevents breakage from split ends, prevents tangles and in most cases your style will hold up better. So, ladies getting your ends clipped should be apart of your hair maintenance routine.

Style Couple
In honor of Valentine's Day. I'm replacing my style chick of the week with a style power couple. My pick of the week is the always stylish Will& Jada Smith.
Jada has an oval face shape. Which is considered the ideal face shape by hairstylist. It suits just about any hairstyle. Jada is known to change her hairstyles often. I love her with an updo, they always look so elegant and timeless. It also highlights all her great facial features ( Luv! those cheek bones). Will cleans up well too. His haircuts and facial hair are always very sharp. He is well groomed from head to toe. I just love a good looking women with a good looking man by her side!
Happy V-Day my love-bugs

Dare to Be You. "Be-Youtiful"
Dare to be a women, dare to dream. Dare to be all God created you to be. Dare to dig deep and find the beauty within. You are queen so, learn to be comfortable in your skin.
Beauty is on the inside it's beyond skin deep. It's the twinkle of an eye, a heart that quietly beats. It's the touch of a hand that pulls you up when your down. It's the confidence to walk with your head held high, when the world tells you that you should be looking down. Your a rare gem a one of a kind, so allow your true beauty to shine.
So, let's move mountains and walk on water. Let's put forty more cracks in that corporate glass ceiling.I dare you to allow God to put your life in order. Dare to be delivered, restored and set free. Blossoming into the beauty you were created to be.
The world has it's illusion of what beauty should be. So dare to be You!

Style Chick of the Week
I'm really loving short hair lately. It's probably because I'm trying to let my hair grow back and I'm struggling not to cut it off.
Halle Berry is my style chick of the week. I love her with this playful pixie. She has worn many hair cuts and styles but I have to say my favorite on hair is short and playful. She shows us that this cut can be worn flipped, straight and feathered and they all look fabulous. It's fun and easy to care for. It always keeps the face front and center!
