You may want to try and stay away from mouse and find yourself a curl defining product or sometimes a good leave in conditioner could also do the job. Most mouse's are high in alcohol, which can be very drying to your hair. Also when the hair dries it can become hard, weighed down and flat. Curl defining products can help with frizz and give your curl more definition. You want to find a product that is moisturizing and conditioning, that does not make the hair dry and hard.
